28th February: A gathering for the Senior Sisters of the Province (aged 70 years and above) was held at St. Joseph Convent, Goregaon. The Sisters were warmly welcomed by Sr. Marjorie Caldeira, Provincial Superior. The evening began with a cup of tea and delicious snacks followed by a prayer dance. An entertainment programme by the Postulants and Aspirants lifted up the spirits of the Sisters with their action songs and welcome dance. Rev. Fr. Anthony Fernandes, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Joseph Church, Goregaon, conducted an interactive session with the help of a powerpoint giving the Sisters a few tips on how to live their old age in its fullness. The Sisters shared some of their peak experiences of life. Sr. Leopoldina Miranda, Assistant Provincial, gave a session on - The Gift of Years: Growing Older Gracefully. Sister introduced the ‘Prayer Ministry’ which is a need of the hour and thus engaged many Sisters to take up daily in prayer a particular intention. They were encouraged to become a power house of prayer for the Province and the world at large. The evening concluded with a game and pancakes enjoyed by all. The Sisters joyfully returned with a token of love and appreciation given to each one by the Provincial Superior. |
